Dividend Declaration Date
The date on which a company announces it will pay a dividend, often through a press release on Business Wire or by publishing an announcement on its website.
Dividend Record Date
The date on which the corporation’s shareholder roster is frozen to determine who is eligible to receive the dividend.
Ex-Dividend Date
The first day a stock trades without the upcoming dividend attached to the shares. If you purchase the stock on or after the ex-dividend date, you will not receive the upcoming dividend.
Dividend Payment Date
The date when the cash dividend is deposited into the shareholder’s brokerage account or bank account, making it available for withdrawal or reinvestment.
